HRD Minister Ramesh Nishank announced CBSE Revised syllabus for the new academic year 2020-21 on 07th July, 2020 which was soon followed by an official notification by CBSE on the same. CBSE has done this due to loss of classroom teaching during COVID-19 pandemic.

CBSE New Syllabus 2020-2021
The CBSE new syllabus 2020-21 has been rationalized keeping intact the learning outcomes so that the core concepts of students can be retained. CBSE reduced the syllabus of classes 9 to 12 with the help of suggestions from NCERT.
CBSE stated in its notification that the deleted chapters/topics from the CBSE syllabus should not be considered for internal assessments or for the year-end board exams. However, teachers should ensure that the deleted portions are explained to the students so that they can use it to connect to other topics, the notification said.
