NRA Expected To Conduct CET Exams From September 2021: The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is likely to start conducting Common Eligibility Test (CET) from September 2021. Initially NRA will conduct exams for Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).
Union Minister Jitendra Singh reply to questions asked on the NRA in the Lok Sabha. He said that the agency will only conduct preliminary screening of candidates and the final recruitment will be done through domain specific examinations or tests by the respective recruiting bodies.

What is Common Eligibility Test (CET)?
Common eligibility Test (CET) is a computer based online exam that will screen candidates at the first level or preliminary level for IBPS, SSC and RRBs. Candidates who qualify the CET will become eligible to appear for further selection phases such as Tier 2 or Tier 3, which will be conducted by IBPR or RRB or SSC itself.
The CET will be conducted twice every year. The NRA will conduct Common Eligibility Test (CET) separately for:
- Graduation
- Higher Secondary (12th pass)
- Matriculation (10th Pass)

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had approved the establishment of National Recruitment Agency in August 2020.
To the question asked about the purpose of setting up the NRA, Mr Jitendra Singh said, “NRA has been set up to provide the same platform to all candidates at the nearest district headquarter and with a view to set a new standard of equity and inclusiveness in recruitment.”
The government has announced the Common Eligibility Test Exam Dates 2021 which is September 2021.
Meanwhile, Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) will conduct exam for selection to NTPC, group D and other posts in December. Over 2.4 crore applications have been received by the RRBs. RRB has released RRB NTPC Application Status on 21st September 2020.

The National Recruitment Agency will initially conduct Common Eligibility Test for preliminary exams of 3 agencies namely:
- Staff Selection Commission (SSC),
- Railway Recruitment Board (RRB),

NRA CET Syllabus 2021 PDF
After the announcement of the NRA, students have many questions regarding the exam pattern, syllabus, subjects, and marking scheme of the common exam.
Anything in this regard is not yet decided by the government. The NRA is going to announce the CET exam pattern and syllabus after a few months.
But we can expect that the syllabus of common eligibility test will be a mixture of SSC and Banking exams’ syllabus. It means there will be questions from all major topics of these exams which are Reasoning, Mathematics, English Language and General Awareness.
The syllabus will be common for all the CET exams. The level of the exam will depend on your qualification.
